The REMESOS project has officially launched its Lived Experience Advisory Board, marking an important step in ensuring that mental health initiatives are shaped by those with direct, personal experience.
Bringing together members from across Europe, the Board plays a central role in guiding the project’s activities. Their insights will help ensure that REMESOS remains grounded in real-world needs and reflects the diverse experiences of people living with mental health challenges.
The Advisory Board contributes to key areas of the project, including implementing the Guided Functional Peer Support (GFP) model and developing approaches to strengthen community-based mental health support. Members also provide valuable input to ensure that project outputs are inclusive, accessible, and relevant.
By embedding lived experience throughout the project, REMESOS reinforces its commitment to a more person-centred and participatory approach to mental health. The Board’s involvement supports the design of solutions that are not only evidence-based but also meaningful and practical for the communities they aim to serve.
The members of the Advisory Board come from a range of professional and personal backgrounds. Together, they bring expertise in areas such as healthcare, research, communication, and advocacy, alongside their lived experience of mental health challenges. This combination of perspectives strengthens the project’s ability to address stigma, improve understanding, and promote more inclusive support systems.
The launch of the Lived Experience Advisory Board highlights the importance of co-creation in mental health projects. It reflects a broader shift towards recognising that effective solutions must be developed with people, not just for them.
REMESOS looks forward to working closely with the Board as the project progresses, ensuring that lived experience continues to shape its direction and impact across Europe.
